And that's half the problem. GMB is a two-tier show. One is a tabloid, news heavy, Morgan cetric format, the other relies on the tried and tested tired fluffy breakfast format which has been around for way too long.

Whatever people think of Piers, he and to a lesser extent Susanna Reid have revitalised the breakfast tv format, but as Morgan only works three days per week, doesn't have the consistency the show deserves, so falls back when he's off or on holiday.

Seen a clip of Piers Morgan on Morning Joe, is it me or is America's sound output awful? sounds like he is in a subway.

On a traditional TV it sounded fine so I don’t know what was going on but it’s mixed and output at 5.1. Perhaps it was Joe’s mic - in order to qualify as a Florida resident and not pay property taxes he has to live half of the year in Florida. They started doing it about a year or two ago when they got married. They have an at home studio and the acoustics in those things are not always the best.

Morning Joe is one of many cable news channel breakfast shows in the US. There plenty of them to chose from, and they have usual mix of news and commentary.

The most infamous of these is Fox and Friends on the Fox News Channel. From 2009-2017 it was the home of the Barack Obama bashing stories and conspiracy theories, with the hosts taking their lead from the Republican Party. It was totally anti-Obama, and at one point, one of Fox News own hosts, Chris Wallace called them out on it, on their own show.

Since January 20th 2017 it is now The Donald Trump Breakfast Show - Trump watches it every day, and phones into the hosts and talks to them. They ass kiss Trump and his administration and it is awful to watch, fawning, lick lick, slop slop show.

Morning Joe is on MSNBC, a left wing, Democrat Party supporting channel owned by NBC Comcast, who now own Sky News here in the UK. Joe was a Republican, but has since called himself independent after the embarrassment of Trump. The women next to him, Mika is his wife.
