It's rare that I use the heart emoji but oh that back screen š! Looks absolutely gorgeous on close up and wide shots. Beautiful image too, I really like the fact they''re continuing not to shy away from this being a programme broadcast from the country's capital. Throws out that nonsense about News at Ten dropping their fantastic set because research said it was too London-centric. And that the desk is still up front and centre as the main feature of the studio.
So It builds on the familiarity of the existing set but with a bit of a boost. And I must admit I'd have loved to have seen titles with an aerial view of TVC and "live from Television Centre" voiceover but appreciate that it's closely associated with the BBC, the south bank is their spiritual home.
Best new subtle thing for me? The DOG growing in the corner when going into an ad break!
I know this will most likely spark debate but I think right now is the best GMB has looked ever. The new titles is fantastic, set is amazing. The only issue is the headline bed, they REALLY need to change that.

You took the words straight out of my mouth. On my channel I've experimented and put the full 2017 theme onto the new titles that came out yesterday, I think it goes much better with the new titles than 2014s music.

Just had a look at the video and yes it fits it so much better if only they had the sense to revert it back!
Just flicked through today's show on the ITV Hub and the timings they work to are utterly bizarre. At 6am you can no longer expect to get to the top story until 6:05 when Piers is in, meaning the local news goes back to 6:20. Today they interrupted their paper review to go to the weather on-time at 6:30 (with a decent length forecast for once), but then carried on the review afterwards, meaning that the BOTH headlines weren't until 6:37. The interview they then aired at 6:45 then went on so long that they ran out of time for the entertainment news, and after the break just before 7am we went straight into the weather. No headlines at 7am, but time for Piers to go on about viewers watching on +1 and complaining about the time being wrong, followed by the top stories and then the belated entertainment segment. Then twenty minutes spent on the Windrush story, meaning weather at 7:40, then a long sport story to take us up to 8am. No weather or headlines here, instead a 30 minute Pamela Anderson interview, with no headlines (not even the top story) during this half hour!
I get that they have the flexibility to go more in-depth but when they do it on every single story and throw the timings completely out the window, it must be utterly baffling to a viewer. After 7am there was only one weather forecast and it was ten minutes late, plus no news summary after this time either! If they keep breaking the running order perhaps they need to rethink it?
So you watch it hours later and complain they were a few minutes late with the headlines. Seriously?
This show seriously can't win here - they spent 15 minutes on the initial news, had a lengthy interview which meant dropping entertainment news, gave 20 minutes of time to the top story of the day and then spent more than the last three minutes of the show interviewing the main guest.
I donāt understand why people canāt get their head around the idea they donāt intend to stick to a rigid schedule. Their selling point is the fact that Piers has torn up the cozy breakfast tv rulebook.
They've realised what works for them and it isn't sticking to a precise schedule. They've done that before with previous incarnations of the breakfast show and got nowhere, especially when that's very much the style of programme that BBC One put out.
So they've freed themselves from scheduling everything so uniformly and rigidly. They have all the elements of a breakfast show but nobody knows exactly when they'll appear, some things get dropped. And Piers basically has free rein. Lots of publicity and tabloid attention then follows. And finally for many years they are making a bit of traction at breakfast.
