Piers wouldnt want a rival on the show simmilary grabbing the headlines.

If Jon Snow can remain at Channel 4 News, Piers should be fine.

I'm baffled as to why they're not making an effort to an equivalent partnership for the non-Piers days. It reverts back to GMTV 2009 when he isn't there.

I don’t think you can compare one questionable comment from Jon Snow with the feeling that Piers was push it too far calling Bradley Wiggins a ‘cheat’ a sign he was pushing the boundaries.

It's a hard one, Piers criticised the output on GMB last summer for being too fluffy, yet when he's not there, the show is even worse.

Talking of fluffy content...

WHY they keep inviting her and her fellow talentless 'reality stars' on the programme is beyond me.

Every single response I've seen to the above tweet amounts to either 'ugh, I'm sick of her' and/or 'well, I won't be watching GMB tomorrow, then', so I really don't know who they're trying to please with inviting people like this on the show, but it's clearly not working.

ITV feel viewers have enough to stomach from Mondays to Wednesdays, that for the remaining two days they need to recover before he returns on Monday. Also, if you hate Piers, then having Thursdays and Fridays Piers free helps. It wouldn't help if they had another ego maniac at the helm on Thursdays and Fridays.

That sounds like your personal opinion rather than fact. He may have negotiated a three day week as part of his contract rather than a commercial decision to not work Thursday and Friday.

Of course it is my personal opinion. I have opinions like everyone else, and I do not have access to the mind of Piers Morgan or the GMB/ITV team. It was just an opinion.

When you definitively start a post with ‘ITV feel that...’, that’s not just stating your opinion, that’s attempting to state a fact.

Unfortunately, the last time she was in rated quite well, so that will be why she’s back.

Piers isn’t wrong but Summer especially August is a very dry month for news normally so it’s not surprising that things do slip.

I apologise for my wording. In future I will reword it.

GMB has received two BAFTA nominations in the News Coverage category, for On a Knife Edge and the Thomas Markle scoop.

I have previously stated on here that Piers does have a fantastic contract with ITV, and indeed it looks like GMB/ITV are happy to have him on the air for three days a week, for probably 40 weeks of the year.

The question posed was why doesn't ITV have another partnership like Piers does with Susanna - my opinion was that I felt ITV were happy to have a sparky partnership on those three days, and did not want a similar form for the rest of the week.

Maybe they use it to test ratings, what exactly is the Piers effect, maybe they use it as a way to justify Piers huge wages.

It isn't the first example of Snow's left leanings spilling into the public domain. But the comparison is relative, considering Jon Snow is a newsreader, Piers is not.
