Piers Morgan pushing ITV's editorial guidelines a bit more here.

He's mentioned that he's a remainer on live TV - however then chastisising supporters of a 2nd referendum. That creates a balance

No it doesn't. He's a "journalist" on a largely news-orientated programme - he's meant to remain impartial. Viewers shouldn't be able to tell what party or policy he supports or doesn't support.

Are Piers and Susanna on Christmas break yet or do they leave this Wednesday ?

They leave on Wednesday.

A few days late but I thought Susanna was great in Westminster on Thursday morning. With all of Morgan’s noise and the usual theatrics of GMB, it’s easy to forget Susanna is a really good journalist. The nonsense in the studio with Ben and Kate wasn’t so good, however.

In the states, there are no ofcom style laws about this, however the general consensus is that anchors on mainstream channels suh as NBC, ABC, CBS, local FOX channels and other local channels remain impartial, however the cable news networm anchors have more freedom (MSNBC and FOX etc). Piers came from one of these, CNN, so maybe hes just used to it

It will be 10 years on Wednesday since Fiona Phillips left Gmtv

I didn’t realise that mediocre presenter leaving a failing breakfast show was something we celebrated the anniversary of.

I do enjoy watching the sitcom Fox and Friends, otherwise known as a morning news programme on the Fox News Channel in the USA. It is so funny to watch three anchors who can not hide their love and support for President Trump, who often phones into the show. Imagine Theresa May phoning into GMB or BBC Breakfast each week.

So you don't get out your Fiona Phillips eggcup and saucer and dunk a soldier for Phillips Wednesday?

Least they don't have Piers Morgan going off on one for 45 minutes every day.

Fiona was at the helm for many years and crucially at GMTV’s peak. Perfectly fair comment to reflect on that.

To me it feels like longer. Look at how different ITV Breakfast is now compared to then and how many iterations we’ve been through since Fiona left. Contrast 1998 to 2008 and you’d barely notice a difference.
