Is Good Afternoon ITV a modern day equivalent of the Christmas Tape perhaps?

Looked to me more like an internal corporate presentation for ITV Studios operations both around the UK, and around the world?

The BBC do corporate 'ring mains' regularly when they want to tell staff about new policies, or changes taking place in the organisation. They sometimes come from The One Show studio, presented by people like Joanna Gosling or Naga Munchetty who then interview BBC managers... (They are called 'ring mains' as they are usually viewable on ring main TVs or the IP ring main on a BBC computer.

My guess is that the ITV show may have been an ITV Studios internal presentation - but possibly less about change, and more about a chance to review the year and celebrate successes as a company?

As others have said, it looks like an internal presentation for ITV colleagues discussing how ITV has performed this year. I believe the lady being interviewed in the third picture is ITV’s CEO. It’s interesting that they chose to adapt GMB, the show is clearly now seen as an asset; I don’t think they would have chosen to adapt GMB v1 or v2.

Clearly the GMB studio could be adapted for a range of programs, a surprising amount of effort for an internal presentation. The heavy use of blue does give off a doctors surgery feel though.

Yes it was the annual "look how great we are" presentation for all staff. CEO and directors stand up and outline the company's strategy for the next year. Probably irrelevant as ITV will be ripe for sale if the pound's value continues to fall.

P.S. Pres geeks - apparently you should set your VCRs to record from January 2019!

Or maybe it was a good sized space that was free in the afternoon and had the connectivity required to reach the rest of the ITV sites?

Isn't BBC Breakfast supposed to be getting some sort of revamp in early 2019 too?

They already got a "revamp" of their opening titles and graphics - a blink and you miss it revamp back in June wasn't it. Is the 2019 revamp going to be on a larger scale?

The massively negative correlation between the scale of online hoo-haa (probably mainly on TVF, in fairness!) leading up to the last billion instances of BBC Breakfast "refreshes" and the often barely-noticable actual on-screen changes is enough to make anyone super-cynical, granted.

But I'm sure that a few months ago it was "confirmed" by someone - possibly Lord Lucan! - that e.g. a proper change of set (if nothing else) for Breakfast was due in early 2019.

Funny how both the BBC's and ITV's breakfast shows seem to have frequent tweaks/tinkering/refreshes syndrome, to some extent or other. More so GMB, methinks?

Well GMB were forced into a large refresh of their set when they moved in Studio 3 at Television Centre in April this year. I don't think there will be much change made to that set now it is a permanent fixture in Studio 3.
