Goodness the faux shock in this thread about Piers Morgan being a pillock is quite hilarious. The guy is an absolute piece of work and will eventually push it too far in his desperate search for attention.

And as we've been told on here numerous times apparently Piers is the show so of course everyone will immediately stop watching should he leave the show and the ratings "juggernaut" that is GMB (well as much as you can call a show that gets only 700k a ratings juggernaut) will crumble.

Charlotte Hawkins does seem a much better fit for ITV News than she does the tabloid-lite, infantile GMB.

Will the Christmas decorations be up in the studio tomorrow?

This seems to suggest so.

It's difficult. The right of reply was taken up and they had to read the statement out. Sadly, that statement was very much a load of crap. Like you say, if James O' Brien on LBC had had such a rant (he goes off on one just as much, especially with Brexit) it wouldn't be an issue, but one imagines the TOH news bulletins would have dealt with the right of reply in this case.

Morgan would be a great shout for LBC actually.

I do find, in small doses, LBC a guilty and refreshing pleasure. I do enjoy equally O'Brien and Ferrari, (and politically I'm not 'smack bang in the middle')

My LBC listening has rocketed since Eddie Mair moved from R4's PM to LBC... (Off topic)

Christmas trees and the some Christmas music on GMB this morning. And a lot of comments about the small... shrub behind the presenters. When I left the house at a loose 7:10-odd, Piers was offering to give away the tree to the person who could send him abuse via Twitter.

The full size trees look stunning though!

I also wanted to ask, on Friday during the paper review (I think) the screens behind the desk had what looked like a new graphic of a city landscape (London, possibly others) and the bar effect they use across the screen. It was very original Daybreak V2

The small Christmas trees behind the desk looked very miserable, I’m guessing they can’t fit a larger tree behind the riser because of the credenza. It would have looked better with garland on top of the credenza instead. The large trees each side of the curved screen did look nice though.

They would be better off having no tree between the presenters at all. Or somehow make the city landscape on the media wall Christmas-y?

I’m surprised that they haven’t used the night time background from Good Evening Britain for at least the first hour, bringing in one of the larger trees to sit in front of the screen, behind the round divide - the darkness is forgiven when there are many twinkling lights around, either that or the icy background that was used not so long ago. Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think that they have changed the background since moving into TVC in April, whereas the previous set used spring, summer and winter variants.
Maybe they could use a garland on top of the divide rather than having the trees in the middle.

Knowing that the studio lights can be altered I’m surprised that they haven’t played around with the colours to make it a little cosier, though that could come over the next few weeks. I thought they would have added a garland to the divide behind them.

I completely agree. I've previously seen that there are alternative backdrops available but they decide to always use the same backdrop.

The Usual Backdrop:

A Winter Backdrop (which would complement the Christmas Decorations nicely):

Yes. It's really annoying. I wish they'd use the dark backdrop again with the warm l8ghting. It made the show feel much cosier

Maybe Mr.Moangan decorated them himself?
