In response to Laura smiling in that video I didn’t see her smile once?

I see a fairly cheery expression all the way through. Like I said, perhaps that's just her natural expression in repose. I'm not a big follower of her work.

That's just her natural expression. I suspect that she loves meteorology and it shows in her work.

I cannot find a Lorraine thread.

Greg James sure likes his TV themes

Nice concept. I like it. However that example isn't the best because the bridge in in both the background, and the OSG and they don't match up. Plus with it made that small, is it worth having a regional background for the graphic?

Looks good. I'd omit the ITV News logo under the GM Tyne Tees as theres on at the top of the OTS. And as 030293 points out, looks a little odd having the Tyne Bridge in the inset and then in the background. I'd maybe pick a slightly more generic backdrop.

At least the presenter is sitting down. The standing up nonsense has been one of my bugbears about GMB.

Time to unleash my inner angry Geordie. The bridge in the background is the Tyne Bridge while the bridge in the OTS is a bridge over the Wear in some rubbish place called Sunderland.

Sincerest apologies. If I'd have paid enough attention I'd have noticed that haha.

As has being pointed out, two different but very similar bridges in shot. I don’t think there’s any need to change the standing position of the regional headlines on GMB, however if they’re going to sit down as Rachel is there then I’d remove the usual regional backdrops in favour of just a still image a bit like the collection of screens that are seen behind the newsreader/Richard Arnold/Guests on GMB and that would keep the style of GMB going through.

It seems daft having two such similar looking bridges. As proven by how it fooled those of us who lack decent knowledge of North East landmarks.

Why not use the Middlesbrough Transporter Bridge as the inset image? It's far more readily distinguishable from the Tyne Bridge, and would also be a nice way of acknowledging the South of the region (Sunderland is hardly a great deal south of Newcastle/Gateshead, in the grand scheme of things).

To be fair, at first it looked like a continuation of the same photo to me but with a dark filter on it to make the text stand out, as the top of the bridges look quite similiar!

Why not use the Middlesborough Middlesbrough Lifting Transporter Bridge as the inset image?

Fixed it for you, Alex Very Happy
