lol, I wonder how many people end up late for work because they don't realise they're watching a +1 channel?

According to Twitter, quite a few. GMB's Twitter bio even points this out:

One need only press a button on one's remote control to discover that you're actually watching e.g. Freeview channel 33 rather than 3. Or maybe you might notice the "+1" bit of the channel DOG. Or maybe it could occur to you that it seems weird that GMB is still on when Lorraine's show should be in full swing.

Or whatever.

I really despair at the thought that there are plenty of people who would pester the programme via social media before anything such as the above would blithering well occur to them.

Is it that hard to generate something to block the clock? Even Ireland AM's late morning repeat on be3 manages that!

Something to block out Piers (a bit like in a certain episode of Black Mirror) would be most welcome...

I've asked this before. At least make the +1 DOG more noticeable as you can't actually read it at the current size.

It's bizarre no one in Continuity or Creative has not made a tweak to it since the rebrand. Even ITV2's +1 is more legible.

Channel 5 can do it with the Wright Stuff and cover up the phone number at the bottom of the screen for their +1 repeat (and they were also able to generate "don't respond" straps on the +1 airings of the shopping channels in the older days on their sister channels) so I don't see why ITV couldn't do it if they wanted to. The regional opt outs may be an issue though...

Or of course it could be more beneficial and probably easier to make the +1 dog on ITV bigger even if its just for GMB...

I wonder what the logistics are to putting up a caption for GMB for ITV+1 for the regions that use, presumably including STV and UTV.

If that was the case than a separate or larger DOG would suffice.

However you’re always going to catch out the great british public.

I doubt that the numpties who send messages to GMB via FaceAche/Tw*tter etc about the clock being "wrong" have jobs to go to...
