I don't watch GMB, but it seems to be all over my twitter this morning because they had a guest this morning who "cures" homosexuality. Is that the level they've stooped to for guests?

Someone who works for BBC Breakfast tweeted they'd have resigned if they'd booked him:

Yet Sunday Morning Live also booked the same guest...

I didn't see the interview, and I don't support the guest in any way but is it not important to air a wide range of viewpoints? If somebody wants to defend their ridiculously outdated views on national TV, I don't see the issue with that. Not inviting guests in because you don't agree with their views is an extremely slippery slope in my opinion.

Sunday Morning Live had 3 guests who countered him. Only booked on GMB for trolling purposes.

A wide range of viewpoints is ok but you have to be careful of false equivalence and giving equal rate to opinions that are bad or in some cases literally wrong (see also: climate change)

The latest 'ITV Viewback' survey was all about the presenters from over the summer, asking you to choose your favourite and least favourite presenter, as well as a view on each of the presenters.

Ratings wise the show was back up to a 19.5% share, compared to a share of around 18% over the summer. Don't rush to credit Piers for this though, as all of ITV Daytime was up given the holidays have now finished.

I felt the model who was on defending her Facebook post yesterday was journalistically sound - it was a recently developing story and she was a good guest to get on. Whether Piers Morgan is somewhat combative or not is not my issue, that's his style. Today's guest felt a bit desperate.

Regardless, Good Morning Britain's producers will be loving the controversy it's causing. They're just playing a bit of a dangerous game which at some point will backfire furiously on them.

As for anyone who doesn't like it, sharing the video on social media with your furious comment only helps them. The Lisa Simpson "just don't look" adage has never been more accurate.

They've given up on getting the general audience and just trying to get social media reaction now.

Odd comment when viewing figures are considerably up.

Kind of sums up the social media hysteria that GMB are clearly aiming for now. Daily dose of homophobia and extreme views. And yes, I know Rees-Mogg is an elected representative but his booking was clearly a social media baiting exercise.

The sort of stuff that gets posted on this forum and you find the idea that such an account exists remotely suprising?

Not surprised at the BBC journalist tweeting he'd resign if BBC Breakfast had booked the guy in question. We seem to have some in the world nowadays where it is easier to just shut everything off rather than engage and challenge views, statements or claims which you don't agree with yourself.

Good Morning Britain should take note that trending on Twitter doesn't mean 'everyone is talking about it' or that more people are watching.
