It was like childlike level of delivery. I guess they didn't have an autocue coach? I get it. Enticing Love Island viewers to GMB, but it just looked a bit naff, not the worst but naff.

Doubt it would entice a single Love Island viewer.

Well at least the mummies demo anyways.

Although saying that, there were thousands of comments on Kem and Amber's Instagram posts from people saying they would be watching. Whether that actually translates into viewers is another matter (and I doubt there would be an increase in ratings because of the BARB system).

I didn't see Kem or Amber this morning, but they've faced a backlash online from the target GMB demographic. I feel bad for them in a way because after watching them for 7 weeks I think they are quite likeable.

Messy end to the 7am TOTH This Morning, cuts to Richard & Ranvir for last two stories & wide studio shot for the titles (date etc...)

Something I've always wondered (and sorry if this has already been asked)...

Does anyone know why the GMB weather presenter's line at the end of the forecast promoting the web address is pre-recorded?

They've been doing this since the days of GMTV, and it always sounds odd going straight from live to pre-rec, especially so when they're on location with different acoustics and background noise. My best guess is it's due to some kind of technicality relating to sponsorship rules, but I'm curious to know a definite reason for this if anyone knows.

It probably is down to the background noise and wanting the website line to be as clear as possible

And it would to be very irregular for a presenter to actually mention a sponsor during a live piece.

Talking of the weather...it looks like Alex is the main GMB weather presenter now. Lucy has commented that she's "covering for Alex".

I suppose it's also a break for any cues from studio floor staff, noises whilst cameras are repositioned, etc. Don't all weather forecasts have a break at the end, whether this be a website promotion, a sponsor bumper or the BBC glass ball with web address. It's nice to see a summary slide is still used by a broadcaster. Especially handy at that time in the morning when you may be busy doing other things.

I'd always assumed Richard was a safe pair of hands, but some of the things he's come out with over the last few weeks could have come from Anchorman. In fact, I'd say he is worse than Piers for making awkward comments. Ranvir and Charlotte have looked frankly embarrassed at a few of his comments.

Richard did seem to be trying his hardest to be a parody of Alistair McGowan's impression of him and rather Partridge-esque at times.
