They could have Susanna in Westminster with Ben and Kate in the studio. That would allow Susanna to handle all of the serious stuff.

Ben is still capable of handling serious stories though - he's done it for long enough...

I would also hope that they get Piers in as having Ben doesn't really shout credible news anchor.

Never thought I'd see a comment like that and not assume it was rhyming slang.

After the awful events today, does anyone have an idea if GMB will still use the new updated music? Since it is going to be most of the opener it sounds too upbeat for a story like this... unless they have a new serious tune?

I would hope they have a percussion-less version of the music, with just the GMB signature notes.

Or they use the 2014 version of the same.

I think the current theme will be fine - it is much more appropriate than the last.

Bringing in Piers and Susanna every time there's a serious incident is a good call but it doesn't half undermine the rest of the team.

To be fair, the rest of the team undermines the rest of the team.

It's no different than any other news service though who always being in their bigger names, happens on the BBC News Channel and Sky News regularly.

In any case Ben Shephard isn't much more light weight than half the people who host Breakfast these days. Dan Walker and Sally Nugent are hardly news heavyweights.

I think the expression using your assets kicks in let's face it Susannah anchored brilliantly from Paris following the attacks there, and for all the gripes about Piers he knows his stuff and together they will be able to deliver the news that we need

That opening was jarring considering the sombre mood coming from the Westminster end.

Sally Nugent and Dan Walker don't host Tipping Point though.

A very strong performance by all on GMB this morning. Piers very good saying what others are thinking about everybody getting on with business as usual; that way the terrorists haven't won.
