Jeremy Kyle is just not suited for the presenting role on GMB. The only guest host that is good in my opinion is Eamonn. Yet last summer was done superbly with just Charlotte, Ranvir & Kate alternating so why couldn't they have saved themselves money and done this again for 2017.

Can everyone look at my previous post please and tell me I'm wrong someone? I think my post is spot on. And it's not about saving money BroadcastWales. If that was the case why is Shaun still there? And Charlotte? Both unneeded.

I think they're looking for a male replacement of Piers that's got the reputable journalistic skills required to cover when needed on a long term basis

Ben does ok but isn't a hard hitting journalist and also has his own projects he works on. Eamonn is the ideal candidate but with covering half term on This Morning he's not available when required and I'm sure ITV don't really want the same face on for nearly 5 hours in a morning.

John Stapleton would have done good but he didn't take to the less newsier items which lead his to depart GMB.

They could opt for an ITV News face either from ITN or the regions.

Richard Madeley single handedly made Granada famous? Because it was really unknown before This Morning came along.

Yes I believe Richard has made Granada what it is today. He is very underrated and was very surprised not to see him be offered a role with ITV or some other network after his c4 & W shows. If ITV are looking at a replacement for piers for cover shifts I doubt many people will bother taking up the role other than the people who have been standing in already like JK and EH as they have other jobs. They'd struggle to get someone outside of ITV because not many people would want to go there for the odd shift during holidays. If piers was to fully leave which I doubt will happen any time soon they'd be better off getting RM in full time or Eamonn full time. As much as I love them both I think they're a little past it now and I couldn't imagine them staying long. I doubt they'd be able to pull anyone from Sky as they're mostly hard hitting news journalists and GMB just isn't that programme. Maybe someone like.... Exactly I can't think of many full time replacements for Piers other than the ones above and let's be honest that's not much of a choice is it?? Even though I have much respect and love for RM and EH. IF ITV could persuade him enough with the right amount of money and hours.. Bill Turnbull? Why the hell not. Absolute class act him and Susanna amazing chemistry great journalists and of course former BBC Brekkie presenter.

Given how Granada is a pale imitation of its former self, I doubt Mr Madeley would thank you for that!

Your not understanding my point. My point was they already have professional journalists and presenters available. And they are both needed as Charlotte is the main newsreader and Sean is Sports Editor. Sean has only had the opportunity to present what is it three times? If they gave him a chance he could have been a decent relief presenter.

Lets look at it from the target audience's POV? They will see Kyle as another loudmouth, just like Piers, regardless if one is a journalist and the other isn't.

He's a capable presenter who can adlib, ask questions off the cuff and unlike Morgan doesn't seem to be deliberately pressing the buttons of viewers to wind them up on a daily basis and is more credible than Ben Shepherd who has fluff written all over him, not helped by his GMTV past.

JK is as tabloid as Morgan, but doesn't have the press background.
