Hmm sounds like it could be Lorraine-style content which I'd expect to be based around the sofa area for the duration.

Hate to say it but I think it'll be full of 'showbiz' & 'entertainment' especially with them two love island people having a slot on the show which I still find absolutely bizarre

I think if they are bothering to extend GMB, they wouldn't convert to Lorraine-style content. I think they are doing it to see whether people are likely to watch after 8:30.

Really intrigued to see how they'll work the programme after 8:30 with content, graphics etc

Hopefully the way they have done before whenever the programme has went on until 9.25am or 10.30am...

I'd prefer them not to be reporting on a terrorist attack personally.

Could be a good opportunity to get some live music on the show. They have a brilliant performance area which is underused.

Why on earth are Anglia and Tyne Tees viewers missing out? (Or does it just mean there isn't an ITV HD for those regions?)

There is... it'll just be a mistake.

Just a thought but could 'GMB Today' also be a trial for when they have to move to TVC? If the 8:30-9:25am slot was under the GMB brand rather than 'Lorraine' it would presumably make it easier to use the same GMB set, instead of having to use the other TVC studio. Also perhaps worth noting anoilyrag's post a few pages back.

Christine Lampard is excellent. A pleasure to watch her host.

This whole GMB Today thing seems very like Today and Today's Take. In terms of sponsorship it's difficult because I'm sure ITV won't want to lose its earnings from the Lorraine sponsorship which could have an impact on the GMB Today output.

We could of course be totally overthinking this and it's actually just a different name to use for scheduling changes at short notice. I had hoped they'd just extend normal GMB but it appears they have a different plan which I still look forward to seeing especially how they do things graphically, what the format will be and maybe the GMB Buzz bed would be used?

I know what you mean about the whole 'Today' name.. There was GMTV Today and if I remember rightly remember wasn't Lorraine's original slot called "LK Today"?
