I think it's pretty fair to say that GMB won't be on air in 2032. I don't think television as we know it will exist in 2032!

Exactly! GMB is my favourite breakfast show but...
a) as you saw with GMTV, even if a show is going well, ITV likes change and
b) the point you made in the post i quoted

Except GMTV wasn't going well.

The GMTV brand after systematically ripping off viewers was toxic.
It had to go.

Was it though? Maybe in the industry itself it was, but I still hear plenty of people at work call Good Morning Britain, GMTV even after it's been off air for nearly 7 years.

And after the Opera thing was revealed nobody I knew switched from watching GMTV to Breakfast, they just carried on watching it like nothing happened.

Well the ratings tell a different story, a combination of Eamonn leaving, Fiona leaving, the bad press with the competitions, Emma Crosby not really fitting in, and BBC Breakfast becoming much more populist and more GMTV like had a big effect on viewing figures.

Except it could still be broadcasting in years to come if ITV leave it be and never mind if presenters change keep the programme going. Think of NBC Today, its been broadcasting since the 1950s and still going strong. If ITV just learn from their mistakes and quit making drastic changes every few years then GMB could still be on air in years to come.

There's a good 'what if?' to be written about this. What if GMTV was still a separate company? What would it look like now?

Different weather presenter in the morning:

I don't think they're ever got to a 3rd in line before although I do seem to remember Pip Tomson did the weather one day? I hope Laura & Baby are fine as she wasn't meant to be off at the moment.

Anyone have news about Laura ?
She was in holiday middle of July, she was back on Monday 24th, and from Tuesday 25th, no tweets, no news (It's been 4 years I watching ITV Breakfast, it's the 1st time I don't see Laura tweeting).

Lorraine only just signed a new contract with ITV, worth around £2.1 million according to one of the tabloids (could have been The Sun).

The suggestion that she may want to retire seems to have come from no actual evidence whatsoever.

Very interesting, Lorraine changing to a different slot perhaps or working on different shows instead?
