Piers is not a reporter on Twitter for GMB or ITV News, he finishes his job at 8:30. Therefore, he's just an ordinary person tweeting like you and me. The Daily Mirror had some of the salaries leaked to them early, which is where I presume Piers got his info from.

I don't see much point in embargoes anyway. Why not run with the story as soon as it's verified?

Because then people won't give you anything in advance. Then you'll have to scramble to get your story together rather than have plenty of time to prepare it, safe in the knowledge that no-one's going to beat you to it.

I see Piers is winning praise from ITV colleagues about his "scoop" on the BBC salaries story. Oh wait, he had the same info other journalists did, but just broke the embargo - presumably because he craves attention.

It just brings a little order to chaos and makes sure stories are better-written and have had some thought out into them, rather than being rushed out for the sake of being first.

Normally if a journalist breaks an embargo they won't be given the next few stories at least from the source. Can be quite a high price to pay.

Just saw his tweets to Sky's Beth Rigby, I'd start deleting and apologising if I was him. Taking the Katie Hopkins act too far

Why would you presume that?

It's likely he got them through GMB/ITN... I wonder if there will be repercussions that affect either the programme or organisation.

I think it's fuss over nothing.

It appears they've dropped the standing up for the TOTH for good. Like already mentioned they've gone back to the 2014 intro format and opt straight into the headline and graphic:

Now that the majority of the programme comes from the desk, I'm wondering whenever they refresh the programme next we may see a bigger desk introduced.

Something this size, maybe? Very Happy

If they do introduce a bigger desk, I hope they bring the old desk back. The current desk doesn't match the coffee table in front of the sofa.

I really can't see them bringing back the larger desk for a while. The old one was frankly massive and I think it was because viewers didn't like how large it was that they chose to get rid of it. It will be interesting to see what they do when they do move to Television Centre. Maybe they will try to pretty much re-construct the current set, or prehaps go for a completely new design complete with new desk.

I would really like to see a set design that could work for multiple shows when they move to TVC. I realise that's a massive design challenge but could be impressive if it worked. They're going to be short on the space they're used too and time will make it tough to make major changes to sets if programmes are being filmed in the same spaces.

It wouldn't be that much of a challenge looking at those two wideshots of the GMB studio. Take away the desk, swap the sofa cushions, put in a table and kitchen, change the image on the windows and it would be fine for This Morning
