To get back to studio space for when the London Studios closes in the spring of 2018, it was interesting to see This Morning doing a tour of the country of the show. Holly and Phil took the set to Birmingham NEC and will be touring the show around the country. Is this a way to test it to see if this could be a way of shifting This Morning out, removing the need for a large studio space for the show and concentrating on two small studios for GMB, Lorraine and Loose Women?

That seems like an awful amount of effort to go to in order to answer that.

That is farfetched. I mean for a start, budget?!

Not only that, it's my understanding that This Morning Live is a one off at the NEC only, rather than a tour - unless things have changed?

Eamonn and Ruth mentioned they are taking the show on the road. Yes I agree it would be financially stupid to do it on the road, but someone said it would be interesting for them to do it.

How about media city for a week or leeds for a week? There nothing stopping them use itv places around the UK for block use. It would help cut costs.

But how many suitable facilities do ITV actually own? (Its unlikely to be more than a handful, if that)

How would moving between studios every week help 'cut costs'? All the hotel bills for the crew and production team and transport costs let alone all the logistics involved. And what would be the benefit onscreen?

I sense this is being overthought somewhat.

Does ITV Yorkshire have a studio for use such as this? I thought most of the main production studios now have the sets for Emmerdale in them.

They do, unless they are suggesting This Morning use the regional news studios Razz

Certainly interesting how the director improvised with running over this Morning. Quite a clever decision:

Even Piers grinned slightly at 8am when the voiceover took a long time to finish even though the camera shot was static.

I actually think that they should stick with this sort of opener for the 8am TOTH. Although I think it would be better to just play the full V/O titles from the start. And also cutting straight to the newsreader after top story should also be kept.

I don't think they should use this style for any of the TOTHs, unless there is an overrun.
