Yes there will be flats but the main point of the development is to build a new centralised HQ for ITV. That's taking up the majority of the site

Eh?
And here's me thinking when it's rebuild there will still be three studios, and a main television production centre, providing over 6 hours of live weekday programming each day.

Oh that’s good to hear.

There will be three new studios, but compared to what they have now, it will be a shadow of its former self, with the three studios being around 3,000 Sq Ft each. The huge Studio 1 and 2 will be no more from around June 2018.

I cannot help but think the main point is to re-develop the site to contain some very lucrative residential housing and have a TV HQ with a few small studios as a sort of bolt on add on. The next move I expect to read about is that ITV have sold off the entire site to a developer and will lease back the TV building. That's what I would do.

"American Icon Pamela Anderson."

She's Canadian...

The fourth letter of singer & actor Mandy Patinkin's surname is clearly an "i" (not an "a" ), and yet Kate Gabbaway pronounced it "PatAnkin". Rolling Eyes

Shame to see it close it’s all happening so quickly so they can build houses for the rich and wealthy it’s a joke.

I had similar feelings regarding TVC... until I joined this forum.

Now I focus on existing positives, and also turn negatives into positives where I can. Smile Wink

No disrespect, JKD, and not trying to make you feel unwelcome either - but I think you too should focus on existing positives and turn negatives into positives where possible. Embarassed Smile

In this case, be happy about the actual presence of these three new studios. If you believe they should be bigger, that's absolutely fine - but it would be much, *much* worse if there were no studios at all, IMHO. Wink

Depends on ITV's financial position down the line but I don't think it is that long since ITV actually purchased the premises outright.

The one good news is that Riverside Studios will be up and running by the autumn of this year, with Studio 1 opening up, and the other two smaller studios opening after that, which should provide more studio space central London. So I am optimistic about the future.

Kate Garraway just claimed at the end of GMB that TLS was the "home of ITV" for 40 years... erm, technically it was just LWT until Carlton came along as they didn't have any studios of their own.

It’s just shorthand though, without having to go into any great detail about the history of regional ITV. Quite a few viewers probably wouldn’t know LWT anyway.

Lots of mentions this morning, some nice shots of the building into the breaks and a cheeky GMTV logo appearance at the end Wink

I’ve played it four times and can’t see the GMTV logo. Anyone shed any light as to whereabouts i’m looking?😂

He has, and he’s one of the nicest people you could ever wish to meet.
