The London Studios in recent times had been used a lot more by other productions for the BBC, Channel 4, Sky etc rather than ITV shows.

It's probably their longest running booking, only the first couple of series weren't recorded there

The old Limehouse Television wasn't it?

Hat-trick pretty much recorded all their audience shows at that facility.
HIGNFY, Whose Line Is It Anyway, Who Dares Wins, and no doubt a handful of pilots that never saw the glaring light of a full series commission.

Could well be. The loss of Limehouse was so sad. A victim of the redevelopment of Docklands I believe - as it was on the site of Canary Wharf. Was a popular facility with production teams and crew.

I know the studio elements of Treasure Hunt were recorded there, along with lots of the Hat Trick shows. I believe the studio bits in Diana Ross's 'Chain Reaction' video were also shot there, with the Limehouse Link cameras clad in fake 'old camera' casings.

And Network Seven, Canned Carrot and Food and Drink when it became a Bazal production rather than a BBC in House production.

I think its mentioned on Martin Kemptons excellent website, that most of the technical kit ended up at Fountain Studios in Wembley - which its self is now waiting for the wrecking ball.

Looks like that's on hold for now, as a planning application has been submitted to convert it to a temporary theatre for the next 7 years:

I wonder how GMB would have panned out if John Stapleton would have still been there. Did he not leave before Piers arrived?

John left July 2015, so before Piers joined full time.
It's a shame he left, he disappeared, with no farewell or prior warning.

He'd probably seem a more suitable stand in for Piers than he did for Ben, but even had he not left I think they'd still had favour an all female line up of hosts on days neither Ben or Piers were available.

Seventeen years of faithful service on GMTV/Daybreak/GMB, immediately following seven years of The Time The Place - and they just let Staples go.

Probably a cliche at this point, but the TV business can be so cruel.
