The screens being replaced in the sofa area isn’t that noticeable, but the performance area certainly looks far poorer. I imagine they’ll stop using it now, the wide shots have been tighter since they replaced the screens. I’m guessing that the screens making up the main ‘window’ will eventually be replaced as well. Didn’t the largest of the screens by the desk area come from Daybreak, or am I misremembering?
With the direction that the show has gone in, I wouldn’t be surprised to see a much larger main desk, a smaller news desk and a smaller sofa in the new studio.
They've definitely got their use out of them in many forms.
I'm not sure if they were the same screens that Daybreak 2010 & 2012 used, there were definitely more screens for Daybreak 2012. One of the large screens makes up the main panel of the main GMB window behind the desk, it's some of the smaller screens that make up the surrounding window.
It's great that everyone is assuming the new set will be built around the desk and I think it shows that Good Morning Britain were largely right to stick to their own thing rather than decamp to the sofa at the first sign of panic. Yes, it's still getting thrashed in the ratings and it's probably more about Piers than the desk but the show has been comfortable in it's own identity and therefore has earned a little respect from viewers. They basically stuck it out, unlike Daybreak who hit the panic button and just continued to spiral downhill.

And, tbh, GMB has now been on air for longer than Daybreak was. Remember those axe rumors 6 months in?
It very much seems to be based on the current set but with some slight changes by the look of it. Does anyone know whether the sets will both be wrap around with a way to move cameras between them or will they just be open at opposite sides of the studio?
