A video has surfaced from when GMTV temporarily relocated to Studio 7 while Studio 5 was being revamped.

I think I prefer this temporary set up to when Daybreak were there permanently.

Also note Kate Garraway in her normal days, before she became a clown.

Didn't they also go there when the fire alarm went off during GMTV

‘Didn’t Dan Walker do a fantastic job with that world exclusive Donald Trump interview on BBC Breakfast’...said absolutely no one.

I liked how Breakfast referred to the clip they showed just after 7am. I think they used the phrase "with an ITV journalist" or similar avoiding the words "Piers Morgan" and "Good Morning Britain". Presumably they were trying to discourage viewers from changing channel, despite the clip having all the GMB (exclusive) captions on it. I guess employing Piers Morgan has paid off for Good Morning Britain if they're able to get such exclusives.

Getting exlcusive interviews for Piers Morgan with Donald Trump is a greater reason to switch off Good Morning Britain, not tune in. Double the trouble with two egomaniacs talking to each other, and the snark it would generate in social media just completely outweighs any minor benefits that you might gain from said interview. Not worth it.

"In an interview with ITV" was the phrase they used. The first mention was at 7.30 and played out an excerpt of the interview just ripped from ITV complete with GMB graphics and the clock at 6.04. They did promote the show on Sunday night however and gave a mention to Piers then.

No logical reason for watching GMB on +1 anyway.

I suppose most people’s reason for watching it is that they had +1 on the night before, and turn the TV again and don’t realise their watching on +1. I doubt many people actually choose to watch it.

Would it be possible to cover up the clock and ticker on ITV +1 with a static graphic saying something along the lines of 'You are watching ITV +1'?

Just ITV+1 over the clock itself would suffice, or even just obscurring the clock.

It isn't something I necessarily think they should do - more a case that I'm surprised they don't considering how far they go with disclaimers on other things.

Do STV show GMB on +1 - I think initially they didn't (as the bandwidth is theres, not ITVs).

Does ITV not do enough pandering to stupid people by putting Piers Morgan on screen every morning?

I see your point, though my question was more asking whether it was technically feasible to put a permanent graphic over all the regional +1 feeds.

It should be, the way ITV playout works. The regional streams (there's no opting remember) are just delayed versions of ITV, and adding captions to that should in theory be easier than doing it on the primary ITV output for that region.

It's just do they really need to make the effort, they could if they wanted to just generate a GMB style clock and overlay it between 6 and 9:25 or 8:30 with the live time, clocks are easier to generate than some long thing that covers the ticker.

My mock wasn't necessarily what I think the solution should look like - just a rough idea of what that kind of graphic may be. As Brekkie and you point out, just covering the clock rather than that and the ticker may suffice.

My main idea has always been that, seeing as there is already a +1 DOG on the channel, they should really increase the size of it and make it much more legible.

Oh completely agree, there was a twitter account 'Good Morning Morons' which existed to retweet these people confused at the clock 'being wrong'.
