Exactly. I'm all for tough challenging of politicians but I'd prefer to hear what they have to say and be challenged on it rather than for them to ambushed and drowned out by the bluster & grandstanding of the host. Otherwise it just doesn't work.

Agreed. Nicola Sturgeon's interview the other day was a perfect example - she held herself well and the interview was strong when it was relevant to her, but Morgan (and Reid) soon started throwing questions about Westminster's decisions at her, in an attempt to make a point about how ridiculous it was that the Conservatives had provided no ministers to be interviewed. Despite Sturgeon's constant response of "I can't speak for Westmister, those are not decisions I make", Piers kept badgering her with "Well they haven't sent anyone, so you'll have to do". Here they had the first minister of Scotland, speaking very well and answering all their (relevant) questions directly and honestly. They had an opportunity to ask much more about her plans for the country and Scotland's response in general, but they wasted the second half of the interview shouting at her in a display of frustration with something she has no control over. Presumably because that's what would get Twitter responding.

I switched over.

Maybe they could have asked her why testing numbers are so low in Scotland.

To sit there shouting at how confusing everything is, though, is hugely irresponsible.

Why? A lot of people find it confusing....

Regardless of your thoughts on the government we need people to respect what they are telling us

People will think it’s confusing if Piers is sitting there yelling IT’S SO CONFUSING.

Regarding Piers tweeting of his ratings. It is factually correct and GMB did rate strongly yesterday so I don’t see why it needs such a robust response.

We know Breakfast is higher, but there isn’t a rule that only the highest rating show in a slot can be celebrated.

GMB with Lorraine and This Morning also rated very strongly yesterday,

And why the death rates in care homes are so high. There's numerous questions I'd put to her that I'd like to her see her squirm her way through and answer.

Exactly! Ironically they let her get away with all of that because they were so obsessed with attacking Westminster. A missed opportunity, and I guess a sign the show is ultimately English-skewing even though it should provide equally for the whole of Britain.

UK wide programmes like that or the main news programmes don't really delve into devolved politics unless it's a pretty big story. It gives the impression that the First Ministers of the devolved nations are somehow wonderful leaders and they run their respective governments well when in fact they probably aren't and don't.

Absolutely - Piers often asks the right questions but just doesn't wait for the answers.

Im not fan of Piers to be honest, I find him quite rude to his guests at times, but its very frustrating when asking questions and people avoid giving a straight answer, a simple yes or no. Also avoid answering by going on to talk about an answer to a totally different question. That happened when he was asking about the issue of cleaners returning to work in peoples homes so why couldn't a member of someone's family visit them at home as their cleaner. I can see how he gets frustrated by his interviewees on occasions.

The problem for me on GMB lies with both sides, whilst it is incredibly frustrating when guests, especially politicians don’t give straight answers I do hate the fact that the presenters interrupt their responses, a lot of the time by shouting over them... it does not make pleasant viewing.

Yes. Yesterday Prof Robert Winston was bursting to get his answer out, and he was broadly trying to agree with Morgan (I think! )

I disagree with this comment I see something I form an opinion and then I look at Twitter, watch tv news interviews and see who agrees with me and who disagrees. if people can come up with a reasonable argument I will take that onboard but most of the time I tune in the next morning and Piers is saying exactly what I was asking myself hours earlier though I don't have a cleaner or a son Laughing

Regardless of the new advice I'm taking zero notice of it and I will be staying at home, protecting the NHS and saving lives - I know i've said this before but I live with one of the 1.8 million identified most at risk and told to shield and the government don't care about that person its just another statistic to them but I'm going to do what I can to stop them getting it. I know people have to get back to work and I fully accept that but encouraging people to gather en mass in parks and travel an unlimited distance is just stupid. when its nice weather we will see scenes of thousands of people packed onto beaches none of them social distancing and parks flooded with people who originally may maintain social distancing but as more and more people arrive that will soon be lost because people won't think oh its busy here there is no space for me I'll go home they will instead just join everyone else. We have already seen the scenes of the tube packed in like sardines again despite people told to avoid public transport but with 90% less capacity if we maintain social distancing that's simply not possible and reluctantly I accept that.

I do fully agree with people who say Piers and Susanna talk over people way too much and they need to stop it but for a government to act in such a way at this crucial moment is frankly pathetic and I would be saying this regardless of party in power or broadcaster they boycotted - I've one question for those saying they won't come on because of Piers, he was not on at all last week so what excuse did they have then? If politicians just answered the questions they were given instead of avoiding them and telling us how great they are doing with ramping up testing when they were fudging the numbers to hit the target by sending out a load of home testing kits some of which ended up in the bin and since then we have missed the target almost every day then they would not have to keep constantly interrupting . Had they just admitted we did not reach the target but we tested 80,000 I think most people would say its a big improvement but they lie and treat us as idiots which rightly got a lot of people annoyed

The new things you can do aren’t compulsory, you are still perfectly allowed to carry on as you were, you aren’t ‘ignoring the advice’ by doing so.
