With so much time on my hands I have been mocking something like this in SketchUp. It should be in the Gallery soon!
I think there's a creative way - using screens, lighting and re-positioning of furniture - whereby Lorraine and Loose Women could share the same set.

I hope that soon means today!

Is Lorraine still rating higher than GMB? I’ve not heard how it’s performing in its slightly later slot.
If it’s still been outperforming GMB, as I suspect it has, I doubt they’d want to bring it in line with a lower rated brand. Also the two programmes have a very different feel. Lorraine’s show is a lot more soft and gentle, and in normal times, I don’t think it’d suit GMB’s more brash style.
There's no reason why they couldn't give Lorraine a GMB style set in TC2 to be honest (once normality resumes, at least) - gives the opportunity to expand the GMB brand, and allows This Morning to set up and prep.

Did Lorraine air from the GMB Desk today, and were there any changes to presentation, etc?

I think GMB has been the best performer in the morning line up since JK went, in terms of audience share.

It's very unlikely they'd have Piers or Susanna presenting the weather, it requires a different skillset.
There are still people going out to work, shopping or exercise so it's important they know what the weather will be like.
I wonder if tomorrow we'll be seeing the main hosts taking on the weather too. Surely it's a non-essential role in these circumstances? Particularly when most people can't leave the house. Today Laura was out and about on an OB for goodness sake.

As I said previously, Laura could write the script from home and they could read it over the graphics. I don't see it as essential when there are other presenters in the studio and I certainly don't think an OB is essential although I am hoping there's a logical explanation as to why they were coming live from Henley Upon Thames this morning.
