Good Morning Britain in 2020

Has someone loaded the wrong music files the morning?

All morning they've had the 2017 beds and just played the 2017 outro to end the programme.

AFAIK, they've been using the 2017 stuff for the last couple of weeks.

I know they use the beds etc, but not the closer.

They've been using it for the headlines and coronavirus segments but not elsewhere until today.

I must admit it was nice to hear the 2017 theme again. It’s the best theme that GMB has had in my opinion.

I thought piers would be joining Lorraine

I think it was pretty clear last week that Lorraine wasn't happy having a co-host.

Probably the first time in her career that she was co-hosting with someone who doesn't know how to (or chooses not to) co-host. For someone who's presented solo for so long, being interrupted and talked over must have been terribly irksome... I find it infuriating and I'm only watching!

I concur. The 2017 has little authority and the brass section sounds really synthesized and insipid.

I do wonder if itv Daytime would benefit from Lorraine being the fourth hour of GMB like the today show on NBC. Personally I think it works well continuing with the GMB branding through til 10. Lorraine is versatile, coping well with the developing story, but could also do the soft stuff she usually does. It would allow GMB to become more of a brand and loses the need for set changes in TC2.

Using TC2 gives This Morning time to set up and prep in TC3, which they are not getting at the moment.
