With all due respect his popularity is not exactly Ant & Dec level is it? His time on Breakfast was moderately popular. It was insane to think people were going to switch over to GMB en masse because Bill Turnball was presenting.

Turnbull never presented a shiny floor entertainment programme on a Saturday evening. You also need to remember that 85% of the population don't watch Ant & Dec.

What's that based on?

I'm presuming a crude estimation dividing the population by the ratings for I'm a Celebrity...

Back with GMB, I noticed this morning that out of the 6am titles they now have a... nice shot (or whatever you call it in the biz), before cutting when the music goes DUNNNN and it flows much better.

The single steadicam shot felt a bit awkward and like it lasted an eternity if it was timed incorrectly.

Also I must add how gutted I am that it's Bill's last day tomorrow.

I’m gutted too. But, I feel he’ll be back. Albeit rarely.

It really felt a lot more relaxed and fun today. I really enjoyed it. Maybe this is the direction they ought to be taking the show in. Stuff Piers, get Bill or someone like him permanently.

I have really enjoyed Bill hosting GMB - a great tonic to the bulldozer Piers who yes is only on three days a week, but still is very tough going.

GMB suits Bill, and hoping his health continues to be stable we will see this wonderful man back again at the breakfast table.

As an aside I was listening to Five Live in the car the other day and it struck me how good Tony Livesey would be on GMB.

Has he ever guest hosted Breakfast considering his NWT connections?

Don’t think so. Don’t recall seeing him on NWT since they moved to Salford (although I presume he’s based there now for Five Live?).

He did NWT for a year or so I think after the Salford move. Pretty sure he lasted longer than Ranvir.

I feel even more sad right now about Bill leaving GMB than when he left Breakfast, despite only doing it for 3 days. He really has been the best male relief presenter this show has had, and there's been a few. They don't really have any male presenters already on the team who can cover Piers and Ben do they, apart from maybe Sean Fletcher? Which is why they always have to bring in an outsider, unlike Charlotte, Ranvir and Kate who can cover Susanna. I'm surprised they've never asked Richard Arnold or Andi Peters to cover.

You can tell that Bill really enjoyed this week. Hope he’s back.

I'm sending out my sincere well wishes during this dreadful time for the GMB crew...

According to some papers and websites, GMB was in CHAOS this morning after Bill lost his earpiece. Absolute CHAOS!

Doesn't sound like Bill, sounds like something Piers would do though.
