I assume that’s the reason he stopped where he did, if they were higher all the way through he’d be shouting it from the rooftops.

I'm sure if he'd be able to use Microsoft Excel properly like any semi-intelligent person he'd also learn how to hide cells properly and screenshot it instead of blacking out large portions of a photo taken of a screen from his phone.

I don't think the show flows now they have gone back to having the news between 6 and 6.30 and then loads of waffle when Piers and Susanna start at 6.30. Start the show with waffle at 6am, get to the news by 6.15 and off we go with the show.

And I really don't like it when they split the screen into six with all of the various presenters and contributors on screen. Fair too busy. Keep it to 3 at max.

To be fair, I would have probably just left everything as it was last week until the time that COVID restrictions end, and then bring back things in some form (I wish I knew when, but then again I guess we all wish we did)

I think that’s why they didn’t wait. Who knows how long it will be until restrictions are lifted completely - better to move away from the lockdown-era look and get back to as much normality as they can now as the show might be looking like this for a while.

Great to see Sean reading the news again - I hope they keep him on, but suspect they won’t.
I really dislike the voiceover - it lacks tone or any kind of drama. It’s just dull, and almost sounds muffled.
Also, do we have new music? At 8:42 going into the advert, the music seemed slightly different?

It would of been nice to see Sean do the Wednesday newsreader shift when it was given to Ranvir; that would have freed Ranvir to appear as political editor and then main present during holidays.

I’m actually quite liking the six way split screen boxes, I think it looks great. It gives it that “team feeling” that’s been lacking since the pandemic with only two or three people in the studio.

I think it’s odd that we’ve dropped the openers just introduced in March. I think the 6am at least should go back to what we had initially.
If they wanted to do a quick preview of what’s on the main show that’s fine; run the titles/vo - then “were with you all the way through til 9am. Piers and Susanna are here from 6:30; they’re talking to xxx and discussing xxx. In the next half hour the latest news, weather and entertainment news for you. Here’s the world you’re waking up to” which flows into the pre recorded headline sequence we had before the pandemic.

I think Ranvir was on on Wednesday because of her strictly announcement.

No, she's done Wednesdays most of the year (well pre-pandemic) since Charlotte cut down to three shows a week.

Never warmed to Sean, he's just a bit dull....

I've always found him more watchable on the increasing number of things he does out of GMB. He's no duller than the likes of Ben Shepherd - indeed has he returned this week?

On a loosely related GMB note to celebrate 30 years of HIGNFY they've just posted Piers Morgan's erm highlights for his appearance in 1996...
