I can't quite get my head around the fact that some people here have said that a voiceover that they personally dislike is 'bad' because it's part of a diversity drive?

I'm not sure the colour of Alexandra's skin has anything to do with whether its a well suited VoiceOver or not (I don't think it is btw).

Exactly, it makes no sense - all it exposes is their racial bias.

The voiceover is bloody awful. Too deep, too slow and too boring. They’ve made the wrong decision here...

Agreed. that last guy was better. and the ticker feels so American

The ticker isn't as bad as people here make out but is an unnecessary change.

The voiceover is not what we're used to but if it pisses off racists I hope they keep it.

I like the Ticker and the new Voice Over is good too; the only issue I had was he was not loud enough over the music; certainly with the 6AM Opener.

I’m honestly struggling to think of a change presentation wise that has been a genuine improvement on what the show launched with in 2014. The original studio, titles, music and graphic package were all uniformly excellent, and flowed perfectly.

The 2017 refresh, on reflection, essentially butchered the original presentation in my opinion. Every element of the graphics package was based off the ‘teardrop’ logo shape; squaring off the entire package essentially removed what made GMB’s presentation unique. In terms of the music, I think it’s a testament to the quality of the original theme that they’ve kept returning to it after commissioning new, ultimately poorer versions.

The current presentation feels like a cheap, awkward and inferior version of what they started with. Although elements of the presentation would of course have needed updating - most obviously the move to TVC left the show needing new titles, and the original logo looks a little dated 6 years on, I think they would have been far better off mostly leaving the presentation alone. This latest update further reinforces that point I feel.

Broadly I might agree, but I think that the show was in need of the 2017 refresh - it didn’t really look ‘serious’ enough (but that’s just in my opinion). I think the more square design made it better.

Wouldn’t surprise me if this is one of those changes GMB glosses over very quickly and reverses.

Unpopular opinion incoming

From what I've seen, I don't mind the new ticker. Yes, there wasn't any need for it, and it does need some fine tuning, but I reckon it's something we'll all get used to.

As for the voiceover, I'm not the biggest fan of it right now. However, I think part of that might be because it's a drastic change from the V/O that came before it. I'm certainly not going to write it off straight away though.

I find this hard to disagree with - similar to my thoughts.
