Why have they put the news readers opening line on the ticker it says “good morning Britain it’s Monday 31st August 2020 this is the world your waking up to” seems a bit odd.

I don’t mind the ticker, but I’m not won on the voiceover, it does sound like it’s been slowed down.

Don't mind tickers, but not tickers which cover up half the screen. The BBC ticker from approx 2012 to 2018 was perfect. This GMB one isn't the best.

Think we call this change for the sake of it. Ticker is a step backwards and the text is so big that I'm actually finding it pretty distracting. Text is nearly as big as the main line of the straps. VO also sounds very strange. Dominic sounded formal but his voice still had a more upbeat edge whereas this sounds like when you tell someone to try and do a Hollywood voice over.

Hmmm... the ticker I'm not so bothered by. But the new voiceover sounds tonally off.

Like others have said, the voiceover just does not fit at all, even Sean said it sounds slowed down! 😅

And the ticker definitely feels like change for the sake of change. No obvious added benefit... actually more of a step backwards.

I personally liked the graphics blooper. Text line 1 and text line 2. Laughing

Voiceover seems to be getting panned on Twitter.

The ticker is absolutely hideous, as is the voiceover. Why the need to change things ?

Well it's more difficult to do nothing rather than tweak things I suppose.

I agree with others that it’s just change for the sake of it. The ticker and voiceover are both awful and it seems as soon as September or January comes around something presentation-wise must change even though there’s no benefit whatsoever!

Possibly because there’s cost savings going on? Just because it’s not been said publicly doesn’t mean changes happen to save money in the background.

Pulling the script and headlines into a ticker is cheaper than a dedicated test producer.
