Unless he's decided to compare GMB with Lorraine and BBC News - which were closer (though BBC One still had more than 25% more audience than ITV in that hour) - though that's not comparing with Breakfast...
I do wonder if people are justing telling him what he wants to hear at ITV Daytime, rather than him just out and out making it up...

I think I'm inclined to agree with you VMPhil. Piers Morgan is well known to be highly selective and misleading with his tweets relating to ratings, which is perhaps a skill that comes from his days as a tabloid editor (and arguably a required skill if he ever wanted to become a poliitcian).
Therefore to save this thread from getting stuck in a white hole I'd strongly discourage discussion relating to Piers's ratings tweets. If you must discuss ratings statistics please use data that come from Barb, which tend to provide better context and is usually less misleading.

I haven’t been able to watch GMB much recently but tuned in this morning at about 7.40am and what a mess. They seem to run an ad break then the weather at about 7.45am then another ad break and then ran the top of the hour about 7.50am. No real detailed news and then straight in a discussion with both presenters about student nurses where Piers decided he didn’t really want to listen to a government statement and threw his toys out the pram because a government minister wouldn’t appear on the show.
On the plus side I did like the split screens with the presenters in the studio.

Piers has been rightly moaning about people not maintaining social distancing for months and then immediately after a discussion about Emmerdale and GMB using a 2m stick to space people out at the end of the programme he stood up and walks out straight behind Susanna. Seems pretty rude that he can't wait 5 more seconds for the show to go off air. I know they have to get Lorraine installed with Dr Hilary but he should have walked off the side of the desk he was at or just waited for Susanna to move away herself. Almost felt like it was a deliberate act to get attention. it worked with me
