People tend to forget that Piers Morgan, before he became a television personality, was the editor of the News of the World and The Daily Mirror newspapers.
Remember, this man was editor of these two papers, and the complete lies and falsehoods he used by his team there during this tenure was immense.
The News of the World newspaper saw him being sacked by Rupert Murdoch after Piers published photographs of the then wife of Charles Spencer (Princess Diana's brother) leaving an addictive disorders clinic with even Murdoch saying "the boy went too far" and this was why Piers was forced out as editor in 1995.
The Mirror paper of course saw Piers embroiled in the Abu Ghraib photo scandal which caused him to be sacked from there in 2004.
I think people have forgotten or don't know of his past - he was the King of **** in these newspapers, not to mention questionable conduct over insider share deals.
You can see now why Ian Hislop despises him, as Ian has felt the presence of Piers staff in his home village, who tried to dig out scandal about Ian's private life, so that Morgan could publish them to ensure Ian's career tanked - it didn't work, but Piers persisted, even to the point of asking Ian's own vicar if he had confessed anything to him recently.
Piers has a selective memory over his past. Sadly, unlike Wikipedia, Piers can't delete it all, and it should always be mentioned when questioning his stance presented on Good Morning Britain.
As in the words of Fox News Channel - "Fair, Balanced and Unafraid" - that is what we should be with Morgan, as we show what he really is.
Proof today that it’s not necessarily Piers who throws the running order into disarray - they ran a top of the hour sequence at 7:17.
As I mentioned a few months ago, the last time I saw it at 8am on a Friday, in normal circumstances, they were right in the middle of the showbiz news and were still going strong at 8.04, moving on to another story.
We don't need every item on the show to be timed to the absolute second but they could at least be trying to hit the top of the hour, when the audience expect to get the headlines. Even The Big Breakfast at its most shambolic and self-indulgent managed to hit that. They only have to do it twice in the entire show.

Yeah, I thought this was odd today. There was no reason why they couldn’t have done the sequence at 7am and then move those parts after a headlines update.
The first local news appeared before 6:30 today though, which never seems to happen with Piers on the show.
