'Good Evening...Good Evening.'

Those were the words said on the BBC News at 6 O'Clock tonight by Huw Edwards. Although I didn't see him say the first 'Good Evening' (as I was eating) I saw him say the second 'Good Evening' and smile a little.

Anyone remember when he used to say 'Welcome to the BBC News at 6 O'Clock' and then go straight onto the first story? I dunno why but in some ways it was funny when he said that.

The reason he did that tonight was becuase they stayed on a studio shot for longer than he anticipated, and then noticed that he wasn't onscreen yet. Obviously the gallery were counting him down too early or something.

I think they stayed on the studio shot for longer than anyone planned! If you watched closely (and I am sad!) about the time they usually fade to Huw the BBC News logo disappeared but the camera remained the same.

Huw then said Good Evening as he would have been cued but they obviously had the wrong shot previewed and so it didn't mix to it...

They obviously changed mixed to the main camera quickly then!
