How I wish that this stunt could be usurped by the BBC doing ‘Supper’ later in the tournament.

Why? We’re all British. I’ll be cheering on England as should the rest of the nation.
As stated by other posters, it’s not an attack against England (the team or the country). It just becomes tiresome for Scotland, Wales and NI fans when broadcasters endlessly refer to ‘us’ ‘our boys’ ‘our national side’ etc. However there isn’t much point in having that debate. If the UK media and the wider English public still can’t get their head round that, the Union (and btw it’s a Union, not a nation) is dead.
Of course, it’s GMB rebadged with Piers, so starting a fight about these kind of issues will be a core element of the show. Brexit Britain, eh?
On this topic of debate from the previous page, as a Scot, I'll be supporting England tonight and have been cheering them on the entire competition. I've never really understood the intention by too many to paint them as the enemy.
For what it's worth, I'd actually prefer to see a Great British team compete on the international stage in the same set-up as the Olympics. England tends to be the better performing team, demonstrated by the fact they've made it this far in the World Cup and Scotland hasn't. Yet, there are plenty of good players in the Scotland squad that part of a unified team could get due recognition.
On the Union being dead, I think you're clutching at straws if this is your justification. Although, it is a tad misinformed to state the Union to be dead anyway, considering it's consistently the option backed by the Scottish people in polling.
"...measure the thoughts of the nation after England take on Belgium."
Let's hope viewers in Scotland, NI and Wales get a film then.

I know GMB can be a bit OTT at the best of times, but it seems like a lot of effort has gone into tonight in terms of production. I'd genuinely be surprised if they weren't exploiting the opportunity to test the water for something more permanent.
Of course, seeing it on screen will be the best judge but by and large the logo and set looks pretty neat. More behind the scene clips available on their Instagram for those interested.

I am not a fan of GMB, but I certainly don't have a problem with this programme at all. I shall be watching. They seem to have made some effort in doing it.
The logo looks fine, it will be nice to hear the variation of the theme music and titles.
It still could just be a one-off, so let's just enjoy the pres elements of it, instead of getting wrapped up in some "internal UK nationalism".

They've really gone all out on this and it already looks great. Note they've swapped out the carpet too. I wonder what they've done with other areas and how/if they'll use them such as the weather area. The only thing which looks like it was a shoddy rush is the Twitter header where the logo has been poorly Photoshop-ed onto the mugs.

The studio (from what we've seen so far) looks really impressive, they’ve clearly put in a lot of effort. Changing the logo on the desk, covering up the ITV Weather sign, changing the carpets, etc. are all changes that they didn’t have to make. They do have a lot of guests to fit in, however, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up running out of time and being cut off.

Another image. They've put a big top on the weather desk in the sofa corner. Looks great and would work well for GMB Today if they bring it back over the summer.

I can see that being used as a green-room type area where all the guests sit when they're not with Piers and Susanna.

I knew they’d finally make use of the Purple and White colour scheme... at a more appropriate time of day of course....

Well it looks like they'll be a pre-recorded tease coming up at some point according to the autocue in this tweet.
