I thought that myself. They should either get someone else in on Friday or just publicise that the Piers and Susanna will be back on Monday.


I think it's an interesting idea for ITV to try out. The breakfast format is one of the only formats which can get away with going from news to fluff to sport to a celeb interview and it not being (too) weird. They've tried an entertainment/celeb show and a news discussion show in the late slot and neither worked but by using the breakfast format here they can get away with varying the content a bit more. I look forward to seeing how they do it on Thursday and hearing the tweaked theme. I was going to say that having a theme done suggests that this won't be a one off but this is GMB - they've got a theme for every occasion and an impressive Oscars one which was used about twice.

I’m sure the Oscars theme was sadly only heard once in 2016. You’re right though about GMB having a theme for every occasion. There was a time that they commissioned a 90s theme just for the showbiz slot on one show in 2017.

Sitting Duck have composed so many alternate packages for GMB it's incredible. They must've spent loads on one-off music for the show. No surprises that there's a new one for GEB.

It's the same thing as when Andy Murray wins Wimbledon, he is British, but when he loses he is Scottish. I'm seeing the same thing happen this year with the England team.
