GEB was watched by 2.91M last night

Hang on, that's not according to this tweet...

The peak was due to the inheritance from the match. After less than 20 minutes on-air that 5.25m (which was actually before GEB started) audience had dropped to 3.06m. Losing 2.2 million (or more than 40%) of your audience in less than 20 minutes isn't groundbreakingly successful.

Don't forget that BARB's ratings are based on being in a room with a TV on. Many won't have been watching at all!!

BBC 5Live are tweeting about iPlayer requests giving the impression they equal number of viewers.

Everyone spins.

I guess that's what happens when you serve up Piers F***ing Moron, Jeremy F***ing Corbyn and Ed F***ing Balls straight after an England loss. Many pint glasses were thrown at many pub TVs last night, I'd wager.

Yea I'm pretty sure the "I support Wales and whichever team England's playing" rule is only a rugby thing.

Nope. Heartily cheered on Belgium last night. Just cos we share the same god-awful piece of rock doesn't mean I should automatically start singing Three Lions every two years.

I agree - if you wanted to pick up the footy audience why have a break inbetween?!

Maybe they valued the money generated from advertising following an England game more than potentially holding on to more of the audience for Good Evening Britain.

Because ITV exists to get audiences for adverts, not the programmes in the gaps in between Wink.

Far better to get a high audience for the ad break (which will generate you significant amounts of money) than a higher audience for the following show (which won't)

Do we know how many people followed the post-match analysis over to ITV4?

Do they have any reason to have a clock generator that runs 24 hours when it's never normally going to be running in the afternoon anyway... or even past 8:30 AM.

Because a clock generator runs all the time, and not dependent its on air or not?

I mean, the watch on my wrist does not stop displaying the time, even though I'm not looking at it all the time.

I'd guess it's a similar principle with the GMB clock. Rolling Eyes

You know exactly what I meant- that they probably don't feel they need a generator that displays the time in 24 hour format when it's never normally going to be used on air in the afternoon. No need to be so sarcy.

I'm not sure that's true.

Yes, what was it with the Labour love in last night?

I think they made a right mess of the show with silly guests all round. It was quite a poor show compared to normal GMB. They had quite a big chance and they made a big mess of it. Even Susanna and Piers was not as good as usual.

I would certainly give it another chance on another big event day. Like Royal weddings etc. Need a new director though.
