Got to agree with the majority of the comments. I was really looking forward to the show tonight, but there was way too much focus on the football and more guests than it was possible to fit into the hour. With that said, I couldn't help but feel like there was some sort of potential for the show and I did enjoy it to an extent.

The suggestions by others are correct, should this come back then it would need a proper order and purpose. I think one of the reasons it struggled tonight was because it was almost at odds with what it was supposed to be: GMB is a news/magazine programme, GEB (at least in tonight's capacity) was a football discussion with news added on. Imo, I actually think GEB could work in a weekend slot replacing News at Ten, tonight it couldn't go all-out with regular news updates because it would be lame in comparison to "real" news which would follow.

On the whole, I would like to see it come back and I predict given the effort that has gone into tonight's show, it was more of a pilot than a one-off special

Everyone had better get to bed or else they'll miss Good Morning Britain.

If the aim was to try and get more GMB viewers in tbe mornings, I'm not sure they will have much success.

Hope ITV decide never to try this again, clearly doesn't work.

I can only see this format working on say New Years Eve, which would be interesting, over the course of three hours and a more looser structure- otherwise I don’t think it works as a regular evening show. Was it not for the football, I think the show would have lost its core reason to be on air.

It's after the watershead, but I'd have probably kept away from the alcohol and swearing - mainly because I don't feel it fits "the brand" but it might just be me on that one.

I see that STV got included in the openers tonight. What about UTV? I get it’s owned by ITV so maybe it’s not necessary to be in the openers but in the tweets advertising the program it only said 9.15pm on ITV, STV and not UTV. Although GEB isn’t the only show to do this.

In 2012, ITV Plc, STV and UTV came to an agreement which saw STV and UTV become affiliates of ITV1 (as it was then). As part of that agreement, in certain circumstances where ITV1 was referred to on screen, the STV and UTV names/logos would have to appear also. Likewise, when a programme advertised itv.com, they would have to advertise stv.tv and u.tv also.

The reason being, UTV and STV were part funding the programming so they were entitled to advertise their brands and services too.

When ITV bought UTV it ceased being an affiliate and became part of ITV Plc, rendering the promo agreement redundant.

What happened to Amir Khan... he was there for the entire show but never actually spoke to him??

They did.

When?

They did.

When?

He was on with Pamela Anderson for absolutely no reason at all.

Did they just chuck celeb names into a tombola and hope for the best? Certainly looked like it.

It definitely needed structure. If this is going to return it has to have a USP other than "it's on later, you can swear".
