Dave's Bottom looks weird

I'm watching Bottom on Dave at the moment, and the playout is a bit strange. I've noticed it on some Gold shows previously, but it's hard to describe. It kind of looks like someone's streaming it off YouTube, as if the frame rate is off?

Anyone watching right now, take a look and see if you get the same effect.

Isn't it airing on Dave? Gold seems to be airing I'm Alan Partridge.

Just checked Dave, the frame rate keeps dropping intermittently from its intended 50fps target. Very jarring.

Quite right, I had flicked over to Gold to see if I could see the same effect, which confused me! Edited original post now!

I clicked the page link and prepared to see something about 'Dave's' Flabby Rear-end!

With regards to the issue, I can't help. Sorry. Although I will agree that it looks a bit off.

I'm glad it's not my TV (or my eyes!). It's quite off putting though, especially with Bottom as it's quite fast paced.

It's odd that Dave appear to be showing it in 4:3 pillarboxed when GOLD show it in full screen.

Dave wasn't showing it pillarboxed on SD. Not at my end anyway.

Ah yes, that's a point. Forgot I was watching it on what is usually Dave HD on Sky. GOLD obviously show it differently as they don't have an HD version.

It was pillarboxed on Freeview.

Its Dave's end the OP is concerned with. Seemingly. 😏

On a slightly related note. I wonder if anyone at UKTV realise that RTÉ have copies of Mrs Brown's Boys with clear break points and End of Part 1 and Part 2 boards, and why don't they get those copies rather than the BBC'S copies and save themselves the hassle of the abrupt fade out.

Are the RTÉ edits of Mrs Browns Boys the same length of the BBC's? Usually most half hour / 28 minute long BBC shows are scheduled into a 40 minute slot on UKTV. My question being does RTÉ have the full episode of Mrs Browns Boys?
