They can't fit in "Cartoon Network" in full, but can fit in "Made In Cardiff" which are both 15 letters long.

Comedy Central is only 14 letters and yet it isn't in full, they took the space between the words away to fit it in.

Seeing "Sky SpN HQ HD" makes me laugh. Surely they should have thought about longer channel names when redesigning the EPG and perhaps gave a thought to making the space larger or using channel logos in the EPG and longer text names in the S&S banner?

Or just not used such a stupid name in the first place?

It was fine until somebody changed the channel to Sky Sports News HQ. If it had been left as Sky Sports News it would be fine on the SD channel and "SkySportNewsHD" would have been fine.

Don't forget, the channel names are not unique to the TV Guide, they also appear in the Planner.

Not so intrusive in 16:9.

Wow. They actually managed to fit 'Christmas GOLD' on the Sky EPG.

That was never going to be an issue was it? They manage to fit things on like Made In Cardiff these days.

I don't think it's the number of characters, but the space they take up. ('i' takes up less than 'm', for example).

I notice they've gone for 'Xmas Food HD', 'Xmas GOLD+1' and 'Xmas Food+1'

I wonder if they've increased the space available on the EPG for the new SkyQ STBs. They haven't shown a picture of the TV Guide yet.

The DOG in 4:3 appears to have been made slightly more transparent.

They have shown it in the introduction publicity, I remember seeing it. And no, they haven't increased the space. If anything, it looks like they have decreased it. But channel logos have made it on to the description panel where the synopsys and programme details are shown. So why they don't just have that in the EPG instead of strange. It looks a lot neater and slicker than text.

"Christmas Gold" didn't strike me as a particularly long name.

Still find it odd Sky launched SkyQ yet had virtually no details about it at launch. You'd think they'd have been ready to accept orders, and hence at least have it priced up.
Turns out nobody had 2020 vision.
