Let's not forget somebody thought the retro logo for Challenge was actually a TV Forumer's mock (where the second L was written like the T in Carlton next to the first L) and used it on Sky Anytime. Don't put it past the people at Sky to see one logo representing a channel and assume that's the right one.

I think more amusing was when his 1991/1997 BBC One mock logo was used for digital switchover:

That was never meant to be public facing though, and judging by the others on the video they weren't that bothered about logos.

Doesn't stop me finding it amusing though Smile

When is it changing?

They probably didn't go into details on a newspaper advert.

In all likelihood it'll be on the day of the live show - they're not going to get much better exposure for their relaunch at any other time.

I've often found when I search for a TV logo on Google images, TV Forum mocks are close to the top of the results.

Makes a mockery of fancy branding guidelines which even the largest company doesn't bother checking.

Having been to see the show on Wednedsay, they're going to have to do one of the following:

Not show if until after 9pm.
Edit / censor most of the sketches.
Do neither of the above and risk trouble from OFCOM.

It is no longer going to be live according to the title of the programme on the EPG, "Monty Python Live (Mostly)". The description and the promos still call it live though.

That's the name of the stage show itself, isn't it? I think it refers to the fact that they are showing the original recorded sketches with Graham Chapman during the bits when the Pythons are preparing for the next live sketch, so the show can still somehow involve all six members of Monty Python. That's how I interpreted it from the Imagine documentary, at least.

I believe that's correct as "Monty Python Live (mostly)" is the advertised title on the Cineworld live broadcast screenings.

Slightly surprised it's on Gold rather than Dave so they could show it in HD

Might be using it to boost their pay TV offerings?

I suppose there should be something to entice people to see it in a cinema instead of sitting and watching it on TV.
