GMTV are to adopt a new slogan, 'You're in good company'

Any opinions?

'You're in good company' = Eh????

Are they absolutely 100% sure that Lorraine Kelly is indeed good company before putting that out? Would they like to ask the audience?

Unfortunately, I can't stand GMTV anymore. Instead of giving me a 'good morning', I feel like throwing a large brick at the TV.

Here's the scenario. War in Afghanistan. GMTV Headline: who won the Elvis impersonation competition. I'd much rather turn it over to BBC ONE for some more serious news which actually has a point - not a Pop Idol cash-in.

And they reckon I'm in good company? Please... Wink

Breakfast television. What a concept.

Do people really sit and watch the TV in the mornings? I'm far too busy rushing around getting ready for work to watch TV.

I'm sure others do get up at the crack of dawn and watch TV for a couple of hours before going to work. Personally, I don't understand it....

If I am watching breakfast telly, it's BBC Breakfast News - regional Levy Look North reasons.......

Well I get up at 7.20am on the dot and stick brekky on to catch Nigel Jay with North West Today at 0727. I then have breakfast, get ready and watch 20 mins more from 0800, until I go out at around 0820!

And there's my morning!

In any case, for me breakfast telly is usually that bloody Kilroy, cos if you're on a 10 o'clock start what's the point in getting up at 6am?

'You're in good company' my arse!

It has completely thrown my why they have decided to use this cheap 'n' crappy, boring and meaningless name.

Maybe because GMTV is cheap, crappy, boring and meaningless?

I have to say, that The Big Breakfast (and similar shows) and the news on the BBC seems to have it sown up anyway. Is there any need for a bland middle-of-the-road compromise between the two?

CONFESSION: I've been on Kilroy - once is enough!

I was watching the other day and their top story was that Winny Wotsit had stolen some clothes from a shop. Who gives a **** ? There's a bloody war going on and their top story is about a shop lifting celeb.

GMTV is so desperately poor. I'm at a loss to understand how anyone can bear to watch it.

BBC Breakfast and Sky Sunrise may be a bit boring in the morning but at least they're not so painfully trivial.

I really do think that Channel 4 should put on a serious news programme in the morning, and Sky One could get a kids breakfast show on there instead.
