Does the second breakfast licence still technically exist on CITV?

Think it moved to the CITV channel many years ago, probably during the Daybreak era?
It effectively freed up ITV2 in the mornings to air, um, more soap.

I think it moved to ITV4 initially, and was simulcast on the CITV channel.

I recall being told on here that GMTV could have broadcast on ITV3 as well, but always chose to sell the airtime back to ITV.

During the ITV F1 era, were there any occasions that the normal programming on GMTV, such as the Sunday Programme, had to be shown instead on GMTV2, due to an F1 race, such as Japan, being shown on the main ITV channel during GMTV airtime?

I'm pretty sure anything like that would always just be cancelled, and the makeup time would be the kids slot Toonattik. GMTV2 would just be the normal schedule.

I believe the deal took time off GMTV when it coincided with a Grand Prix with GMTV having the time back in the ITV schedule, this was usually on weekends with no F1 and mostly consisted of extended kids programming however I have hazy memories of a Mother’s Day where Lorraine did a live broadcast which ran until around 10:30.

Remember seeing a listing once where GMTV was on air until 11:20 and I think it was a Sunday morning, but I can't recall whether that was a longer stint one day (could have been a block from 6am onwards?) or whether a smaller GMTV block was tacked on after the motor racing.

That was quite common in the F1 era, either running later after an early F1 race or airing the next weekend for longer. Presumably GMTV2 retained it's usual slot rather than moving with it.

I seem to recall GMTV2 having a god awful DOG onscreen. From what I remember, full colour, non opaque and in a totally awkward position which lead to it being chopped off onscreen (even for those of us with common sense and not having our Sky box/OnDigital box set to 4:3 centre cut out) like a lot of folk during the early days of digital TV.

Good Heavens, the "Totally Spy" in green seems to have a face that looks remarkably like the GMTV Kids 2 logo Wink

That is one of the ugliest DOGs (and logos to be honest) I think I've ever seen.

You mean Sam?
Sam was the one in green, she is the smart one.
Clover wore red and is your typical Beverly Hills valley girl.
And Alex wore yellow and she is the cute but kinda ditzy one.

if she was that smart she wouldn't stand on the left of the frame and have her face covered by a GMTV Kids 2 DOG. Wink
nidave and Colorband gave kudos
