New opening titles featuring filmed sequences of dawn breaking in various locations across the UK. Some nice aerial photography of the sun rising over the treetops of a forrest or something.

How about Stonehenge? Very Happy

What to expect, a very U.S. feel to the titles on the newshour along with a re-working on the current music.

Oh I do hope you *only* mean the News Hour music is re-worked. I'm not particularly attached to that but the sunny GMTV Today music must stay as it is, tis lovely. They can change the titles though if they want [I give them permission].

I remember thinking how very American the ITV news looked in 1999, and wasn't too pleased, but that worked out ok in the end [minus red].

The Sunday Programme music was conveniently on hand for during the Iraq war, so will it stay being all sombre and oh-it's-far-too-early-on-a-sunday-ish?

I didn't used to like Fiona, but have *gradually* warmed to her, despite some of her awfully inappropriate comments. She'll do. Shame we'll see less of Kate -- but Penny, 37, staying is the main thing.

Incredibly interesting fact: Fiona was born in Bangladesh. Isn't that fascinating.

LK Today has a new set and new music and titles...

When you say LK Today has a new set; I presume its just like a new sofa and chair. LK Today is hosted from the extension to the set.

It wouldnt be bad for a whole set change, Id like to see an overview of london like on London today/tonight, but with yellow beems a bit like itv news have the poles yellow that used to be red. Rather than the London today/tonight metal.

How about a massive circular sofa instead of the usual cornered one, with a big round circular table at the centre. The presenters would do like on sm:tv where they sit at the centre of the sofa, yet move to one side when guests come on.

Oh yes I saw the trail for it the other day. Looks vile.

I like the handover to it, but I stop watching when LK Today *actually* starts, no offence Lorraine. I can only pretend to be interested in strappy shoulder bags and scrubby face packs for so long.

And when she starts talking about "boobies" for the sixth time, I'm off.

Does anyone know when the last major overhaul of the set was? i.e. a total brand new set? There have been updates to the sofa, etc, but I cant think when they last had a major new set. I think the last time was when they added that door to the right of the sofa. What was this used for, and is it still there?

With Quantel Leap talking about the LK today set changes, I thought Id go to the GMTV webcam ( http://www.camvista.com/england/london/gmtv01.php3 ) where, guess what, they've covered that area of the set with a light! I wonder whether it was done on purpose or not!

Here's a simple redesign of the GMTV set. Back projection of london in the windows, main circular sofa, big screen for weather & stuff in the right corner, blue curtain with desk for news, lorraines area with stairs that are covered on the other side. new stage area also.

I always thought white would look great on GMTV.

A white floor and a white newsdesk, with a metal frame sofa and metal framed windows.

They could have a "flat" GMTV logo on the floor, like CNN do with their Atlanta studios.

Might look a bit cold at 6am, but it'd certainly make a change from the bloody awful red/blue/brown/yellow/brick/wood look they've had for at least the past 8 years.
