I agree with the poster who said GMTV would look good in the LNN studio with the live back drop. May have a problem in the winter when it's dark and the window reflects the studio instead

I too agree that it would make an excellent set for GMTV. I don't think winter darkness should make a problem considering they broadcast from there under those conditions. In fact GMTV broadcast from there for a few days back in 2001 (a clip of it's on YouTube) and it looked good then, so there is no reason why it shouldn't now.
I'm not sure broadcasting with a black background with a few lights in the background would work for GMTV
Plus I remember last time this was discussed it was said that the studio was either too small, would stop The London Studios hiring the studio out for corporate work, or both

It wouldn't. Christian O'Connell hosted a nightly world cup show from the studio last year and - as you say - all you could see were the studio light reflections.
found a clip on youtub e of gmtv in the former LNN studio at the LS. It looks fantastic! now the studio is not used it would be brillian if gmtv moved there, the perfect setting dont you think. Howveer im sure its been turned into a canteen as it looked remarkably similar to the canteen shown on gmtv this week
I'm sure the canteen is directly below the old LNN studio- thats what its always looked like from out side. never been in that part of the building so not sure. Someone on here will know..

Erm, this is London we're talking about. The lights in the city don't go out at sundown, so it won't be a "black background"!
London Tonight
broadcast from there for more than a decade - often at night - without any problems. If all you see is lights reflected in the glass then you need a new lighting director! I seem to remember tally lights and autocue being reflected in the glass on
London Tonight
occasionally, but no more than that.
