I switched on GMTV on the television this morning, at 8am and noticed that it was in widescreen. Is this now a permanent change or was their just a problem in transmission. I noticed that their too was problems in the headlines e.g the screen went black a few times (with no sound) and went back to studio carrying on as normal but in widescreen.

I've probably given the wrong name here. But.. how can I say. It was in full screen (e.g without black bars at the top and bottom of the screen).

I think what Andrew means is that everyone was tall and thin? (excluding Eamonn Holmes.)

There was apparantly an issue with the aspect ratio around 8pm that has been mentioned in the Anglia News thread

Therefore you may have seen the programme looking different that normal, but as you haven't mentioned if you were watching on analogue or digital or whether you have a widescreen set or not, I couldn't tell you how it would look different

It's on the normal settings for the screen size. (But for GMTV at 8am it came in long faces and thin people). The screen went off a couple of times to black (as mentioned above) so I am sure it's a problem at transmission.

There was, everything was squeezed up a lot.

Down in the Meridian region, where I live, there was a massive problem when some bloke cut the regional newsfeed into the opening titles. They put up a a caption reading 'ITV Meridian- Studio 3 South' which morphed about for a bit before returning to GMTV some 3 minutes later.

This morning in Wales at 8pm we got an empty ITV Wales News studio, with all the lights off. Then the lights came on and 5mins later Andrew Jones came and sat down on the sofa, plugged his microphone in and was busy typing away on his laptop, it ws hilarious!!! Then we cut back to GMTV and we had the news with Kate for about 2mins, then it cut back to the ITV Wales studio with Andrew Jones standing by to read the news, cut off again and we had a WALES NEWS sting on air until the ITV WALES NEWS bulletin. Did anyone capture anything?

I noticed this as well. I thought my telly was playing up with the picture format, but I turned to Channel 4 and everything was fine.
