Nine O'clock Live: I would change tact here entirely, and rather than have a light entertainment or features programme (currently it's LK Today), I would have a newsdesk presented edition of GMTV World News, presented again by Felicity Barr and Owen Thomas.

But GMTV has it's core audience and serves it well, and it has done for years. There is a market you know for that kind of programme, housewives, stay at home mothers etc.

Put on World News which is available on many other outlets, and watch the audience decline.

I don't understand this obsession with World News on this forum, or the assumption that if a programme doesn't appeal to you personally, it has no worth. What would be the point in every channel doing the same ?

I'd been thinking that Owen Thomas would be perfect for the GMTV sofa. I was watching him on the News Channel breakfast show the other day and he's just right for the early mornings, he's very quick witted. Other people I like are Katy Derham and Emma Crosby. I think Felicity Barr is too cold and stern for the morning.

I can't understand why people automatically switch on the TV in the morning.

BBC Breakfast is so dull and somnolent, it's amazing that it even gets the audience that it does.

Dermot with his eyebrows that are slowly but surely circumnavigating their way around his eye sockets and that condescending voice of his.

Kaplinksky is often described as simpering. Couldn't agree more. I'm surprised that her neck hasn't been crushed into her shoulders with the sheer weight of all that muck she paints on her face each morning.

I very much agree with you, bbc breakfast is very depressing and BORING!
I'd go for gmtv anyday, going back to the point when saying itn newsreaders should take over I disagree, if they took over I wouldn't watch gmtv anymore. In fact it can't be called gmtv as the presenters they've got now are like a family which make up GMTV. All presenters are fantastic apart from ET's Micheal Underwood.

I prefer GMTV to BBC Breakfast...I agree BBC News is too formal!

I like all of the presenters on GMTV especially when they have a bit of a banter! The only annoying thing is Ben Shephard..he constantly readjusts his suit jacket (quite violently at times) as if he doesn't want anyone to see his crotch!
