Hi people and this is my first ever post! Glad to finally be a member of TV Home Forum. Anyhoo, saw this from Digital Spy:

Insiders predict that Eamonn Holmes will leave GMTV when his contract has run its course this summer.

Holmes is being tempted by offers from the BBC after his work on the broadcaster's Hard Spell and National Lottery Jetset proved successful. He is also attracted to the prospect of not starting work in the early hours.

He has been with the show since its birth in 1993 but now wants to have more time with his children in his Belfast home.

An insider told The Sun: “There are strong rumours that Eamonn will quit when his contract is up this summer. The BBC are keen for him to present more shows.

“GMTV needs to save money on presenters’ salaries but he is still hoping for a better offer.”

GMTV say that they are currently in contract negotiations with the 45-year-old presenter.

- I so hope this doesn't happen. I have been watching Eamonn and Fiona for years in the mornings and they have always made me laugh, cheer up and waken up in the mornings.

Eamonn - you can't leave!

Anyone's views plz. Sad

I for one have to agree. He and fiona are the only two people at GMTV except for Penny and John to be great on the programme. I much prefer them than the more boring Andrew and Kate. Theres never a dull programme with them.

With Eamon and Fiona, you really can't have one without the other, and I just don't think Fiona could survive on her own. It's so funny to see Eamon and Fiona often having a dig at each other, and this is what puts it apart from the dull BBC Breakfast and why it is so popular with viewers. Even though Eamon has enjoyed success on the BBC it hasn't been phenomonal, and I am afraid that if the BBC snatched Eamon he would end up the same as the fantastic Graham Norton who so far has presented the Sound of Music thing and will be presenting a Strictly Come Dancing spin-off, he deserves his own chat show and also a saturday night show as well but the BBC don't know how to handle talent. Eamon should stick with GMTV and probably deserves a pay rise. I'm surprised he says he hates the arly starts and wants to spend time with his children. Ok, these are very fair points but he has a lot of time off now, not the five day week like he used to do, gets all of the summer off, many major holidays, and GMTV are really trying to cater for his needs. Anyway, to round this off, don't go Eamon! Sad

Eamonn is a dire broadcaster as is old horse teeth herself Fiona Phillips, I much prefer Lorriane "Hullo" Kelly.

She should be on primetime so she should. Cool

Eamonn Holmes isn't that bad, but i wouldn't be sad if he left, not at all. I personally think Kate and Andrew are better and make a great team on GMTV Today. I also think John and Penny make a good team too.

GMTV will more than likely chuck cash offers at him, but i hope they don't!

We all know that if he left, he would present a few shows on the BBC and then just fade into oblivion. It's always the case with things like this.

Fiona Philips is the most rude and irritating woman on television. Just because she's sh*gging the boss of GMTV, shouldn't really give her the right to be on screen.

GMTV is television only for morons and people with low intelligence, anyway.

I don't know why it is, but i do genuinely cringe at GMTV when I watch it, because they always seem to find interviewees who SHOULDN'T be interviewed, mainly because they either can't string a sentence together or are those interviewee types who just say one word when asked a question. I have to walk out of the room sometimes when someone else is watching it.

GMTV is just a load of pointless, tabloid 'entertainment'. I'm surprised Eammon has lasted so long on something as low class as that. I'd have expected better from him
