I hope they change the whole on screen look, new theme music (because the current one has been going for quite a few years)
and a new backdrop. They should be able to get all this ready during the August Bank Holiday.
i havent excatly been reading too much of this, but is it actually a relauch (new studio, graphics ect [AGAIN!]) or is it just a change in presenters?
Medium relaunch. Same studio, tweaked graphics, same presenters TBC.

I wouldn't call it a relaunch. Its just the annual seasonal refresh
I like their refreshes. I think the current GMTV News Hour titles are brilliant, same aswell for GMTV Today. Studio was great the first week, until after they modified it.

I’d love to tell you, except nothing is firmed as yet. Lots are being played with. At the moment, it’s the editorial style of of the programme.
For example, should the correspondents introduce themselves at the start of the programme or not, should the show start really quickly and then move on to the top story or not… lots being experimented with.
I can pretty much guarantee the set will not change, but the delivery will change, it’s just a question of what works. And the graphics… watch this space.

It has to be said that the GMTV Backdrop is clearly showing signs of age now. You can easily see scratches etc on it.
I quite agree with you, if the camera zooms in closer you can actualy see the painting fading away, I remember before eammon left he actually told the viewers how awful the backdrop was
im trying to remember when that backdrop was first used. It was there from not the previous set but the one before that i believe (when they had the blinds over the windows) Thats almost back to 1996 i think.
