The current GMTV Newshour sounds impressive, but lacks content. Maybe GMTV are hampered by not having their own news teams and journalists as TV-am did. (yes, GMTV have their own correspondents as the face of GMTV News, but its all sourced from ITN).

Not true. GMTV has it's own reporters, newsdesk, news editors and news producers. Content and editorial decisions are made in-house.
ITN merely supplies camera crews and sat-trucks (Which is good for them, as crews are alreay on location and news agenda set for the lunchtime news). Hence it grinds the BBC when the world's smallest news operation gets a bigger audience.

Could someone tell me officially if GMTV will be changing in September.

Well they have done for 2 years they changed the tiles on the 1st september 2003 and then on 1st september 2004, so i would not be suprised if they did change it.

they should change more than the titles.

I think they should put the studio back to how it was on August 31st 2004
It looked new, with less clutter.

They should also give the Newshour a seperate studio, possibly new theme tune and titles

Chill, I've been dripping info on this thread as soon as I've heard it.
It's still two months away, and in the talking stage.

Slightly off topic, but didn't GMTV used to get the News from Reuters? Don't know when this stopped or when they switched to ITN.

This stopped 6 years ago, but Reuters staff continued to work for GMTV under contract. This ended last year, when the contracts were transferred to GMTV.

Didnt it used to be called the Reuters News Hour? I remember the Reuters logo featured in the News Hour Titles.
