That's probably why GMTV is a magazine news programme.

I would like to see GMTV being re-structured as a programme, rather than its current position which is a seperate channel.

What would be the actual difference?

That's LK Today not GMTV Today

Why dont you watch a news channel then? Its common sense, you do not like the programme, then do not watch it. Chill out.

Firstly, what's your source?
Secondly, ITV don't own GMTV outright

When they started in 1993 they were owned by Sunrise Television.

Does Sunrise TV still exist?

I watch Sunrise, just venting my frustrations with the stupid 'celebrity' culture, GMTV is just one of many awful programmes to perpetuate this stupid trashy tacky social trend.

Some people may want serious news in a morning but GMTV presents news in a comedy sort of way of course if its a terrible news story they dont joke about that but GMTV is a asortment of many things and I much prefer it than Breakfast on BBC1

do you know what annoys me? *you*

They'd better not change the music too much. Even through all the remixes you can hear the original '93 theme in the current mix and the original theme is just FAB

Bóllocks, Sunrise TV was the original name for GMTV, but they had to change it as Sky were threatening Legal action over the Sunrise name, as they were and still use it on Sky News, plus at that time Sky News was running TV-am News.

AFAIK GMTV until last year used to be 25% each to Carlton, Scottish, LWT (Granada) and Disney. Granada and Carlton merged to become ITV so their share increased to 50% and Scottish were keen to sell.

No new anchor will replace Eamonn.

To be fair, I thought people were being a little harsh on the show but I caught a bit of this morning where they did a whole piece on the affair of Jude Law, complete with vox pop views from people on the street of what Sienna should do, some magazine columnist on the sofa and 'let us know what you think / your comments' text ticker scrolling across the bottom of the screen! No wonder Eamonn left.

Saying that, isn't it still the most popular show in it's timeslot? I doubt the bosses will be wanting to change a safe format that much.

It is, but I belive that they are loosing viewers, so I suppose they are getiing a bit hot under the collar.

Shame that Eamonn won't be replaced, if what the insider says is true, with John Stpaelton the only decent anchor there.
