I thought ITV were in talks with Disney about turning over full control. What with Disney thinking about bringing more abc to the UK.

So is it a case of, well Eamonn Holmes has buggered off, lets increase the news content?

well you never know, some lurkers only bother to register when they have something to post. probably worth taking his info with a pinch of salt, but i see no reason to discount it completely yet.

I wouldn't discount it due to the fact that almost every September GMTV change a bit of their look, either slightly different studio, new GMTV Today titles etc, but we all know its always a variation of the same theme, cast your mind back to the last 2 Septembers. So any speculation that it will be completely different is worthless

I would bet an ITV overall, as a Media Guardian report last week or a few weeks ago, reported about full control of GMTV, and running CiTV over 7 days, replacing GMTV's kids programming. I dont think GMTV would relaunch just for themselves, just one year after a brand new look, it has to be an ITV working.

How about ITV Morning News from 6-7, "Good Morning" from 7 - 8.3 and LK/Ent. Today at usual time?

surely with Ben at the helm it'll be less real news and more gushing over celebs

If you want real news in the morning, to brighten your day then why not watch BBC Breakfast or a news channel?

Well, a few of my friends said that if ITV took over, they would keep the name GMTV.
As for the relaunch, rumour is going round my friend's production office saying that there is going to be quite a bit of a change, with studio reformation, TOTAL GRAPHICS change with more up beat theme music

There will also be a more comprehensive news service, with less competitions and adverts. However, I would like to hear official confirmation before I believe it.

I also hope they get rid of that ridiculous backdrop, that they have had for years and years.

It can only be a matter of time until GMTV's news operation is more tightly integrated into the main ITV News setup, surely?

I would like to see GMTV being re-structured as a programme, rather than its current position which is a seperate channel.

Having said that I never watch GMTV, in the mornings I want to know whats happening in the world and the UK, rather than who's sleeping with who, and what the latest makeup and clothes are in fashion!
