If a change does happen it will be well deserved as the current look in my opinion isn't up to standard. It seems that with the world now with multi channels they all try to copy this same style of studio set up. If you look at the BBC news, Sky News and various American networks they all like the polished furniture look which looks shiny and impressive. Bring back the old BBC blue VR studios as they did indeed rock!
I wonder if the whole Eamonn Holmes leaving scenario is some behind the scenes joke where we will eventually find out the truth that he will be back one day.
Oh - Hi - I'm new and so far enjoying myself and the look of the website. Came across it on Yahoo and didn't even know it was here!

However looking behind the scenes at BBC and Sky, it's a very different picture.

all the current BBC News sets are made from MDF and perspex, with plastic or glass used for the rear projectors. There's no "polished" look about it! Sky's is dirty, very very dirty, probably a reason why they're moving.

GMTV isn't dire.... it's actually improved a hell of a lot. But please, just remember, if the BBC was running GMTV wouldn't you all be complaining that it was a waste of the licence fee?

Nope, still lurking. Stage 1 launch is Monday. Much scaled back from original discussions. . Make of that what you will.

Sky does come across dirty but I have never liked the recent GMTV set up and favoured the old look better as it felt more homely and comfortable to watch.

GMTV was at its best presentation last week of August last year, the set was better, before they ruined it, the presenter idents was much better than previour year the studio with the coloured flags was much nicer, and the coloured lights in the studio went well with the picture.

It appears that only GMTV and Sky Sports have moved on in TV land with glossy up market looking graphics, leaving the rest way behind.

Yes, that's it. Nothing to do with the new building full of new technology and better facilities.... they're moving because their set has got a bit grubby! Rolling Eyes
