On ITV(1) GMTV operate the franchise on the ITV1 network frequencies between 0600 and 0925 and co-operate when ITV1 want to use their airtime for other things like the Grand Prix.
But what really baffles me is why GMTV also appears on ITV2 between 0600 and 0925?
Surely ITV2 is not a franchise that was bid for therefore ITV2 can broadcast 24 hours a day if it so wishes.
Why is GMTV allowed to broadcast a similar service on both ITV channels? It seems a bit pointless unless they are paying ITV2 for the usage of the channel?
It would be great if ITV2 decided to show retro cartoons in these hours that they 'allow' GMTV2 to broadcast on their service.
I would love to see re-runs of Top cat, Batfink, Roadrunner, Hong Kong Phoo-ey and even the odd episode of Seasame Street aswell.
What would anyone else like to see on ITV2 during GMTV hours?
(ps and dont say repeats of Trisha, Corrie or Emmerdale!)
